Music Ministry

The First Presbyterian Church is blessed with a wonderful and varied ministry of music including various instruments.

The Mohler Pipe Organ

The original Moller organ was built for the sanctuary in 1965 with 2 manuals and 18 ranks with almost 1,000 pipes. The console was placed on the main floor, but afterwards moved to the balcony.
In 2011 the Buck Organ Company renovated the 18-rank Moller organ, adding two ranks of flute pipes along with several digital ranks, resulting in a delightful, well-rounded instrument. Also the console was moved down to the main floor and placed on a rolling platform which can be moved to center front for performances.

Grand Piano

Our beautiful grand piano is utilized, together with our pipe organ during our worship services.  Duets with the organ, accompanying instrumentalists and vocalist along with our choir adds much to the rich beauty of our worship experiences.

Keyboard

Our church recently purchased a Yamaha Clavinova in memory of Peg Frisbie.  This keyboard allows the versatility of various sounds and rhythms to enhance our music used during worship.

Handbells

We have a four octave set of White Chapel Handbells along with chimes.  Under the direction of Susan Knoth our handbell choir plays during worship one Sunday a month throughout the school year.

Chancel Choir

Our Chancel Choir sings twice a month during the school year under the direction of Rachel Potter.  Our choir often refers to themselves as "small but mighty".  This dedicated group of individuals has fun as they rehearse and use their talents to enhance our worship services.

Shared Talents

We are blessed with several talented musicians who share in our ministry of music.  To name a few, we have had vocal solos, violin, cello, piano and organ solos shared in worship.
