WE PRAISE THE LORD OUR CREATOR
INTROIT AND BRINGING IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST
Let this be a time of preparing our hearts for worship
Choir “Gather Us In”
CALL TO WORSHIP
One: Friends, we know what God desires of us:
All: That we do justice, and love kindness, and walk humbly with God.
One: We gather this morning to remind each other about that,
All: To remember that now is always the right time to do these things.
One: So with thanks in our hearts, let us worship God.
*HYMN #375 “Shall We Gather at the River”
WE CONFESS OUR NEED
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (in unison)
Holy and gracious God, At times we feel so frail and fragile, getting blown about by the latest crisis, by bad news, by our own short tempers and failings. You call us to hold fast to what is good, but so often we flounder, unable to find that solid thing that will center us again. Help us, we pray. Help us to see you as our center, and to cling to the good that you create in the world. Help us to set aside all our jealousies and prejudices, all of our betrayals and lies, all that adds to the world’s hurt. Help us to grow even more into Christ’s likeness, that we will bear his love and truth to the world. We pray in his name. Amen.
SILENT PERSONAL CONFESSION
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: Friends, hear the Good News: God so loved the world that God sent Jesus to us, not to condemn the world but in order that we might be saved – healed and forgiven – through him.
All: Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen.
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
*SUNG RESPONSE “Gloria Patri” (Avery & Marsh)
Glory be to the Father, and the son, and the Holy ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
