WE PRAISE THE LORD OUR CREATOR

INTROIT AND BRINGING IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST

Let this be a time of preparing our hearts for worship

#515  “I Come With Joy”  verses 1 & 4

CALL TO WORSHIP

One:  We gather as people on a journey.

All:    We believe and we have doubts; we do good and we sin.

We are imperfect humans, and still beloved by God.

One:   Love and grace. Hope and faith.  These are the essence of the one we call God.
All:    We seek forgiveness and grace from the One and from those we’ve harmed.

One:   Assured of that grace, we are ready to grow again.
All:    We yearn for a new way, a new perspective, and a clear path.

One:   Though we are full of trust and full of doubt, we are here.  Speak to us, God!  Continue creating us!

All:    Inspire our hearts.  Enlighten our minds.  Guide our actions. Amen.

*HYMN   #266                                              “Joy to the World”

WE CONFESS OUR NEED

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION

When our faith stands at the grave, grieving for a stone that's rolled away, forgive us.
When our faith is short of understanding though the truth is there to see, forgive us.

When our faith, beset by doubt, sees no further than an empty tomb today, forgive us.
Bring to mind the cry of Mary, ‘I have seen the Lord!'  and grant us faith to believe!  Amen

SILENT PERSONAL CONFESSION

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

One:    Behold:   there is a new heaven, a new earth and a new city, where the river of life flows, where the tree of life bears fruit in every season.  This heaven, this city, this          river, this tree are a vision of your life reborn, restored, and renewed.

All:      Thanks be to God!

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

*SUNG RESPONSE         “Gloria Patri”         (Avery & Marsh)

Glory be to the Father, and the son, and the Holy ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
