Gratitude, Service and Community

As a congregation rooted in the Reformed tradition, we gather each week out of gratitude for the love, mercy, and grace upon grace that God offers us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In our worship together we use a combination of rich tradition and creative worship energy. Our historic sanctuary with beautiful stained-glass windows provides a beautiful setting for worshiping the majesty of our creator.

We have two worship services on Sunday mornings. At 8:30 we Worship 'Round the Tables. This service is held in the fellowship hall while sitting around the tables. This is a less formal service with both hymns and contemporary music being sung with CD accompaniments. Coffee and juice is available. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is served each Sunday at this service.

Our 10:30 service is held in our sanctuary. In this service we sing a mix of traditional hymns with some contemporary hymns mixed in. Nursery care is provided during this service and children in grades K - 8 are dismissed from worship following the children's message for Sunday School classes.

During our worship services we involve members and friends of the congregation in leadership as we strive to lift our voices to God in gratitude and praise, listen to God's Word proclaimed, and sing to the glory of God.

Here at the First Presbyterian Church we consider ourselves a church family. We enjoy spending time together talking, laughing, playing and eating. Each Sunday after worship we have a coffee hour, and on the first Sunday of the month we have Pizza Sunday. In addition we have various opportunities to spend time together with small group activities and family events. These groups are used to develop friendships and mutual support along with prayer and Bible Study.

We have a wide variety of fellowship groups centered around particular interests, concerns, and life stages. You are invited to explore and join any group that interests you. Newcomers are always welcome!
