Paul R. TomlinsonPastor
Pastor Paul arrived at First Presbyterian Church in September of 2002 as the Director of Spirituality & Education. He then was invited to be the Designated Pastor in November of 2003 and pastor in November of 2005. Paul received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. He then attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree. He and his late wife, Nancy, have three children and five grandchildren.
In addition to his Master of Divinity degree Paul also has received a Master of Arts in Organizational Management through Spring Arbor University. He has also completed a three-year Institute of Spiritual Direction program.
Paul brings to the church a passion for preaching, a love of music and a heart for people. Outside of the church you might find Paul working around the house, singing, playing on the church softball team and rooting for the Green Bay Packers and the Michigan Wolverines.
Don PhillipsDirector of Christian Education
Don has a background in ministry and Christian Education and brings his enthusiasm in his work with our young people. Outside of work you may find Don motorcycling, bicycling, playing computer games and drinking Mountain Dew.
Dorice KoetjeChurch Secretary
Dorice helps keep First Presbyterian Church running. First Presbyterian Church is deeply blessed by having Dorice. She keeps the office organized, has a wonderful Christian spirit, and always has a smile and an encouraging word for those who stop in or call the office. Outside of work Dorice’s main activity is running her children to various sporting events.
Wonderful music comes forth “from the organ loft” because of Dianne. Dianne brings a wonderful musical talent to the church. Her music on the organ and the piano, ranges from classical to contemporary. She has a deep love for the traditional hymns along with a desire to try new things. Dianne has a love for birds, critters and people.
Amy has experience as pianist/organist for several churches along with at an assisted living facility. In addition to playing organ for us she teaches private music lessons and is an adjunct instructor of Psychology at Saginaw Valley State University and Central Michigan University. She, and her husband Kevin live outside of Cadillac and enjoy time together, along with their 20.2 pound cat.
Susan KnothBell Choir Director and Pianist
Susan brings a passion to uplifting and exciting piano music and a strong dedication to the music program of our church. She accompanies the chancel choir, plays on certain Sunday mornings and also directs our bell choir for special occasions. Along with her music offerings Susan is committed to her family and to the youth of our church.
Katie KelloggChoir Director
Katie is native to Cadillac. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Education from Alma College (Go Scots!). She has earned her Master of Arts in Music from Ball State University and is near completion of her Doctor of Arts in Music. Along with her extensive music experience Katie loves to read, knit, run and watch football.
Jackie ElenbaasNursery Attendent
Jackie helps keep our "little ones" happy. With the assistance of a volunteer adult each Sunday she cares for and nurtures infants and toddlers during our 10:30 worship service.
Dan works diligently to clean our building. He is always ready and cheerful to do most anything he is asked to do.
